This is the big one, and the talent matchup is as bad as you might’ve imagined. Bama is loaded with talent all the way down. This will be the first team that has us outmatched, from a raw talent standpoint, on both sides of the ball.
TLaw was rated higher than Tua, and Tee was slightly higher rated than Jerry Jeudy. They have amazing talent on the right side of the line, and all of their WRs are five stars.
On Defense, we have the advantage at DT, in part because I made these plots in hopes Big Dex would be back by now. Albert Huggins was rated 0.9583, so he’s still rated higher than Bama’s NT.
**NOTE: Anfernee Jennings is actually a 4th LB, because Bama has a 3 man front (DE/NT/DE), so I stuck him in at DT to get him on the board.
Their LBs and DBs, as you may have guessed, were all very highly rated.
We have the top 2 highest rated players, and 5 of the top 10.
Bama has 10 of the top 15, and 13 of the top 20 rated players.
People love to talk about our youth on Offense (3.18yrs on avg), but Bama is even younger, averaging 2.64yrs of experience.
On Defense, we average 3.55yrs of experience, while they average 3.09.
We have a more experienced team on both sides of the ball, but they have a massive ratings advantage. This will be our 4th straight year playing Bama, so we’ve seen them before. The winner of this game will be the first team to go 15-0 since Penn in 1897 (16-0). I don’t think it would be smart to pick anyone to beat Bama, but if anyone can, it’s us.
